Siddharth Anand's recent aerial thriller, Fighter, featuring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone, has performed commendably at the box office, nearing the 200 cr milestone in India. However, the film faced criticism for allegedly misrepresenting the IAF. An IAF officer raised concerns about a particular intimate scene, deeming it disrespectful. In response, the director clarified that Fighter was shot in 'complete conjunction with the IAF,' addressing the accusations.

Siddharth Anand reacts to the allegations of Fighter being disrespectful to IAF

Speaking to ETimes, Siddharth Anand refuted the accusations, highlighting the extensive collaboration with the IAF in the film's production. He emphasized the thorough involvement of the IAF, from script submission to production planning, pre-censor board viewing, post-censor board review, obtaining a No Objection Certificate, and screenings for high-ranking officials, including the Air Force Chief and over 100 Air Marshals, who applauded the film. Anand clarified these details in response to the unexpected allegations.

Siddharth Anand verified the non-existence of an individual within the IAF who raised objections against the film. He stated, 'After checking with the relevant team, it has been confirmed that no such person is part of the IAF. We are accustomed to social commentary in our industry, and this seems to be unfounded.'
